Even though we couldn't optimise the system to better timings than 4-3-3-10-2T, the memory performance is still very good, matching the Asus for write speed and almost for copy performance. The board falls back a bit when it comes to read speed though and, compared to the Gigabyte EP35-DS4, the performance is more balanced and should lead to better results than just improved read performance.

In terms of raw latency, the Gigabyte doesn't fair particularly well dropping quite a few nanoseconds behind the rest of the pack.

Sisoft Sandra tells a very similar story – the EP45-DQ6 has a higher latency than the other boards, but even despite this it delivers pretty good memory performance. It’s certainly better than previous generations, that’s for sure.
